Annabeth's Baptism

We had Annabeth's church baptism this weekend. Her and Eve were both baptized in the hospital right after they were born but we wanted to have a formal ceremony where she could also be blessed with the holy oils. Msgr. Malone performed the ceremony during eight o'clock mass and did an amazing job. He told everyone about Eve and how she was a saint now. During the blessing he asked for Saint Eve Marie to bless Annabeth. It was very touching. I am so sad that I didn't get any pictures of him with AB but he had another baptism to perform after mass so he was very busy.
Jim and Katie Battreal are AB's godparents. Katie is a friend of mine that I met soon after moving to Little Rock. Her soon Landon and Luke have been in the same class since he first started at 2nd Pres back in 2010. She has been a great friend and supported me so much during the pregnancy with Eve. She made us dinner several nights and was always calling to check on me and lift my spirits.
After church, we invited everyone over to our house for a little brunch celebration. It was really nice and gave us a chance to really thank all of our family for the support they gave us when we lost Eve. You see that box on the mantel behind Lyle in this picture? Msgr. gave that to us after the ceremony. It is the syringes filled with holy water that he used to baptize AB and Eve. On one syringe plated in gold he wrote Annabeth Eve Burdine and the other Eve Marie Burdine. It was sooo amazing to see. I had often wondered what had happened to those syringes but figured they got tossed out. It took my breath away to see them.  We love you AB! So blessed to have you in our family. It was such a special day to celebrate just you!

Glasses for Ella!

Ella told me one day that she thought she needed glasses...I ignored it. But after she failed the eye exam at school and the school nurse called me about it, I thought I might take it serious. I noticed that when her and Luke would play Xbox she was getting up to walk close to the tv to read the words. Lyle and I took her to get appt. and yep, she needed glasses. She is nearsighted like Lyle and me. It isn't bad enough that she has to wear them all the time but still pretty bad. She was thrilled to be able to see and after getting her glasses she responded just like I did when I got mine in the 6th grade. She just couldn't believe how bright everything was and how the trees actually had individual leaves! She picked out some cute purple glasses. She literally ages 10 years when she puts them on! 

Last day of school

This school year came and went in the blink of an eye! See ya later 2nd grade and PreK!

As tradition, I took the kids to iHop for breakfast on the last day. This year daddy got to join us!

Ella had a great year as well. Probably her best so far. She had such a wonderful class. I hope we get this lucky next year in third grade....THIRD GRADE! What!!

Field day

The last week of school the kids' celebrated Field day at their school.... one of my most favorite days of the year. I always volunteer for this day because it is so fun to watch the kids race and act silly with their friends. This year it was very exciting because it was Luke's first. All the way to school, Ella told Luke all about it and what fun he would have....Luke listened carefully the whole way. It was so funny! And because I am once again feeling guilty about a post without Annabeth in it I'm just letting you know that she was with the kids on field day. She was in the wrap or in the stroller the entire time almost getting more attention than the kids at school!

Ella was chosen as team captain which meant you had to do lots of the crazy stuff. She was thrilled about it and talked about it constantly the night before!
