Happy Valentine's Day

How can you not have a wonderful Valentine's Day when you get beautiful cards like these:

Ella made these for Lyle and I. They were very sweet and she was very proud of them.

She also made one for her brother which made him very happy. He really thinks she is the best! So do daddy and I, Luke!

Learning to read

We have started Luke on a routine of reading a book or two to us everyday after school. He is a big boy now since turning 5 and I tell him big boys know how to read so he does it though some days reluctantly. He is getting very good! I love watching him read, how his little still baby fingers move to every word. He is very quiet when he reads making sure he sounds out all the words.

Here is a picture of him reading with Lyle a couple of days ago. Stay with it Luke and you will be reading like your sister in no time! He thinks it is amazing how sissy can read. Really he thinks anything Ella does is amazing! She will draw a picture and I will hear him say, "Wow, sissy. How did you do that?" Ha!
