Happy Halloween!

It was great being back in Little Rock and getting to celebrate Halloween with Craig and his family again. Although we really missed SF this time of year because our neighborhood was so fun for Halloween. This year the kids decided on being Little Red Riding Hood (x2) and the wolf. We tried to get Ella to be the grandma but she really didn't want to be so we got super lucky and found and extra Little Red Riding Hood costume at the last minute.

It was a great night! Kids got way too much candy and of course had the best time switching candy at the end of the night. Their favorite part! Thanks for sharing it with us uncle Craig and Aunt Lauren!

Visiting Duke with the family

Lyle and I have been wanting to take the kids to Durham to visit Duke and watch a football game for a long time now. So this year we decided to just pull the trigger and go! We contacted lots of his old friends and football buddies and thankfully so many of them to make it back for a game when we could.

Its getting close to Halloween!

Halloween is a big deal around our house! We love this time of year! Lyle and I surprised the kids this year with this big blowup dragon in our front yard. The kids called him Phantom. Pretty good name. Let the holidays begin!

Burdine Family Campout

We finally had some time to do a quick campfire last weekend. The kids built a fire pit with rocks from the property so we decided to enjoy some smores and a little family time.

Our New House

I don't think I ever posted a picture of our house on here yet. The story of this house is kind of crazy. Well, crazy for us anyways.

We had planned to just move back into the house we lived in before moving to SF (we had it rented to a really nice family while we were gone) but I would occasionally look through zillow or trulia. Then I found out that UAMS was going to pay for our entire move back to Little Rock, so I realized that moving into our "long term" house now would save us a ton of money and time. I knew I would want to move within a year of getting back. I got a little more serious about looking. I knew we wanted to be in the city, close to the kids' school and in a nice neighborhood but hopefully with a little more privacy than usual. We also wanted a pool. When I found this house I was so surprised to see that it was in the perfect location in the city but came with 5 acres of land giving us lots of privacy. I had my sister go look at it first and when she gave it the thumbs up I quickly got serious. I flew home to look at it by myself. I loved it but knew that putting in a pool in the back was going to be hard. Overall, I decided to go for it after the owners agreed to put a new roof on for us. So glad we did. It is such a great house and we love the room and privacy! Kids love exploring the back yard. It has been really fun getting to redo some of the interior and we have lots of plans for more stuff. Like changing out that front door for a big double wooden door!
