Saturday activity

To help Ella learn her letter sounds, we made an ABC book cutting out pictures from magazines that began with each letter of the alphabet. We had a lot of fun putting it together although I did end up searching for the hardest letters by myself at the end. I think Ella liked it because I heard her reading it to Luke that night before he went to bed.

Ella and a couple funny moments

Just wanted to share some funny stories with you all.

I caught Ella outside on the balcony with all her "friends". They each had a chair and Ella said they were "just enjoying some fresh air." Fresh air in Dallas? Where?

Ella wanted to play Doctor this morning so I told her to get the hospital all ready while I finished cleaning up the breakfast dishes. I told her to get all her "instruments" (all the tools in her doctor kit) lined up. So she left and came back saying she was ready. I went in her room to find that she had indeed got all her "instruments" lined up. I guess I need to be a little clearer.

A quick visit from Papa, Grandma and cousin Joshua!

Grandma, Papa and Joshua came down to babysit the kids while Lyle and I went to a wedding in Minnesota. Since we weren't around for the visit I don't have a lot of pictures to share but I did want share this one because it explains why Grandma and Papa looked so tired when we got back.

Needless to say Ella and Luke really enjoyed you guys coming down and Lyle and I are so thankful! Thanks so much!!

What's up with Luke these days??

Luke is now 4 1/2 months old and is really getting busy.

He hasn't rolled over yet but he is trying very hard. Every time you lay him down on his back he quickly twists his body around trying to roll over.

He is also very good at tummy time now. He can hold his head up very well and even sometimes enjoys it--especially when sister is around!

But our biggest news...... we have started eating rice cereal!! At first he didn't like it so much but he has now not gotten the hang of it and actually really likes it.

Of course, Ella is always eager to help!

Thought I would take a little look back at Ella's first experience with rice cereal at 4 months.

I am a lucky mom!

Happy Mother's Day to all those wonderful mothers out there!

Artwork

Just a few pieces of Ella's artwork I didn't want to forget.

A picture of her family. Can you guess which one is Luke?

I know she didn't write this but I love that this is what she had her teachers write. It is hanging on our refrigerator and it gives me patience when I think I am about to lose it--which is quite often!

Her kite--we have it flying on our balcony. I was so proud of how she could write all of our names. The M's in mom are a little hard to discern but it was a good effort.

Spa night

The girls (and Luke) were again on their own this Friday night so we decided to indulge in a little spa treatment.
We had to first create the mood. So we light candles and played relaxing music then we got out all the necessary supplies for facials.

After an exfoliating treatment, we put on our mud masks and cucumbers and relaxed. Ella laid back and said, "Oh, mommy. I am so relaxed!" It was pretty funny!

Luke didn't appear to be enjoying the spa like we were but he was able to get in on some of the fun.

The finished product! Don't we looked refreshed!

Who's Who

Can you guess which is Ella and which is Luke?

Hint

I think Ella wants a pet. What do you think?

A little fun outside

The weather was so nice that we decided to have a cookout. Daddy and Luke BBQ'd brats while Ella enjoyed the cool pool.

Notice Ella is now in her bathing suit. Sticking her feet in just wasn't enough. So, with it being 72 degrees outside, Ella jumps in--all the way in. Every time we would ask her if it was cold she would reply as she stood in the water shivering with her lips completely blue, "No, it is nice and cozy and warm in here."
