Luke and Ella are off to camp!

Ella and Luke went to an overnight camp this summer for a whole week. Ella has gone on long camps without us before but this was Luke's first time and he loved it! It was Camp Caudle near Russellville. They both had friends to go with which I think made it easier for them. Lyle dropped them off and I picked them up. Lyle and I were able to keep up with them from pics the camp would post on their website. It looked like they had a great time and I think they really did! I was so happy to be picking them up though! I missed them!

Camping out in the Burdine woods

The kids got a tent for Christmas so they wanted to try it out this summer before it got to hot. They got it all set up and everything looked great! Although, I don't think they actually made it to night time, they still had fun setting it up! We really love the Burdine Woods. It is so peaceful!

Our 15th Wedding Anniversary

Lyle and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary today. Seems like a long time and then a short time all at once. Very happy to still be celebrating with him. When didn't have a lot of time to celebrate with our busy schedules but we did have dinner at our favorite restaurant Capers. Its nice to take some time and just reflect on the past and how far we have come. Lyle also surprised me with a beautiful necklace! Later that night, Ella surprised us with a beautiful cake! It was really yummy and sweet! Thank you sweet girl!

Summer hike

To kick off summer, I took the kids for a hike up Pinnacle Mountain early one morning before it got too hot.  It was a really great, beautiful hike which ended in some pretty views of the state. We played the "Going on a Trip" ABC game while we walked back to keep everybody together and came very close to running out of water! We will definitely be doing this again!

Updates to the house

We are slowing making this house feel like ours. Filling it up with items we love and renovating some rooms. We started with the office or what we call the library. We had book shelves added to the room and had the entryway ceiling shiplapped with a new light. We are loving the changes! Lyle has always wanted a library so I am happy he finally got one...now I just wish I wouldn't have sold all those books in our garage sale!
