Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Schluterman
Lucky enough to be back in AR to celebrate my grandma's 96th birthday. It was our first family gathering since we got back. So nice to see everyone again. My grandparents are both 96. Can you imagine living that long!!

Dinner on the deck!
We have a nice deck on the back of the house that over looks our property. The weather is finally cooling off a bit so we decided to have dinner on the deck! Nothing fancy but nice to have us all together!

AB and her people
Annabeth has really started getting into drawing. She draws people the exact way both Ella and Luke did when they first started drawing. I love it! Had to document some of her nice work!

The Burdine Laboratory
Lyle and I have always had a dream of running our own research lab together some day. Finally and luckily we have started! Here is kind of a run down of what is going on career wise for the two of us:
Lyle signed on as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery Transplant Division at UAMS. I was hired as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery as well but also in the new Division of Surgical Research that Lyle and Dr. Kevin Sexton (a trauma surgeon at UAMS) are also a part of. My startup package came from a Cobre grant that was awarded to AR Research Institute under the new Center for Translational Pediatric Research which is ran by my old postdoc mentor Dr. Alan Tackett. Our lab is at the AR Research Institute which is about 3-5 miles from UAMS campus. We were lucky and got beautiful lab space! Right now we have hired two employees that we also feel incredibly lucky to have been able to snag, a post doc and a research associate. They are really fun to work with. The lab to moving along purchasing reagents and equipment. We are hoping to start our first mouse skin allograft study soon to test our new transplant immunosuppression drug. Keeping our fingers crossed this all works out. Science is a tough business but we are going to give it a go! Wish us luck!
