Sweet cards to remember

The kids were very quiet tonight working on something in my closet. I was a little nervous about what they were doing but they were being so good that I decided the peaceful quietness was worth the inevitable mess so I let them be. Not long, they emerged from the closet with these sweet cards. I took pics of them and wanted to post them so I could remember them in the future.

The first is Luke's.  It is a little hard to read in the picture but it says:
Dear Mom, I love you. Luke
Sissy told him how to spell it.

Here are the cards Ella wrote. So sweet. I hope they always feel this way!
We love you too kids!

Happy Valentine's Day

Here are beautiful Valentines my kids received in the mail from our family in Texas. Thank you Mims and Pa for the candy and presents. The box was on the front porch when we got home from school and the kids ran to get it before I could even get into the garage!
Belle, Brooks and Blake...we love you too! Thank you for the sweet cards! We hope to see you soon!

And this is the card from my sweet husband! Thanks, babe! I love you too!

The kids also enjoyed some surprise chocolate chip pancakes before school.
I think they had a pretty good Valentine's Day, don't you?

You know you are really sick when......

you lay in bed so long that your hair looks like this!!

Ella has been sick this past week with some sort of virus and hasn't gotten out of bed for about 3 days. Poor thing! It took some DEEP conditioning to get a handle on that mess!

Family movie night

On February 1st, I set out the Valentine's Day mailboxes again which created huge excitement from the kids:) They were sooooooo happy to see them on the mantle with the flags raised after school. I usually fill them with little stuff like two hershey kisses, but this past Friday I made some movie tickets and stuck them in the mailboxes. They squealed with delight when they found them.

I had picked up the movie Brave from redbox earlier that day along with some pizza. We pulled the couch up to the TV and hung our red theater curtains for special effects. It was fun....only sad part is daddy didn't make it home in time. He had an emergency surgery come up at the last couple of minutes and couldn't get out of the hospital. Oh well, I guess it just means we will have to do it again soon! One thing is for sure though.....I need a new camera!!!! My old iPhone 3 just isn't cutting it anymore!
