Homemade playdough
Since I am not starting work until the kids go to school in August, I have had some time to do fun projects with them. This time we decided to make playdough. Ella was a huge "help" mixing everything together and decided on the color--purple of course (which is about to be the color of her new room...stay tuned). And Luke, of course, was the first to taste it. Not a pretty sight!

A little scraped up!
Luke and Ella were heading out the back door one afternoon when I heard Luke start crying. Apparently he had fallen trying to get down the small step in the back and scraped his nose against the side of the house. I didn't really think it was that bad but the next day it did look pretty painful. That didn't stop him from having a blast riding his car. With the help of his big sister, he has really gotten the hang of it.

Yummy corn!
This year my parents gave us some fresh sweet corn so I roasted a couple in the oven for dinner. Little did I know what a huge hit it would be with Luke. He ate all of his and then stole mine off my plate and walked around the house eating it as he played. It was so messy but so funny to watch that I didn't want to take it away from him. When I found it a little later on the floor it was pretty clean!

Flower girl
Ella has been a flower girl in two weddings this summer ( the first was my brother's but unfortunately I some how managed to not getting any pics from that wedding. I have no idea how that happened). The second was our friends Randall and Melissa's wedding. Ella did a really nice job and I think secretly loved the attention.

Ella was the "leader" and helped the other flower girls down the aisle. It was really funny.

This is how we kept them still before the wedding so they wouldn't mess up their dresses or hair..our iPhones. They were pros.

A little more room!
Now that we have more room we actually have a safe place to put of the tent. The kids were so excited to put it up and decided it would be a good place to eat snacks.

Fun with Mims and Pa
After moving into our house in Little Rock, we had to come back to Dallas for graduations and a friend's wedding. So, we have been staying with Mims and Pa for the past week. This has made Ella particularly happy because she has got to do lots of fun things with them like picking blackberries from the local berry farm. She was so excited about her adventure..."these are the sweetest berries, Mom." Her and Mims baked a blackberry cobbler for us that night and they were pretty sweet.

We also got to go swimming in a very nice pool! Friends of Mims and Pa's invited us over to swim at their new house. It was the perfect remedy for a very hot day. Ella and Luke had lots of fun.

Exploring our new house
The next day the kids started exploring their new house. They love having a backyard

and a garage. Oh how long I have waited for a garage!!

This is a picture of our living room. We don't have all the pictures on the wall but you get the idea.

Our new wash machine and dryer. One of my favorite things!

Our new breakfast table and chairs.

After two long days of moving, Lyle and I finally got to enjoy one quite night in our new home. We popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate the moment! Then watched a good movie. It was a great moment and we are excited to be entering this stage of our lives!

Moving Day!
Saturday, May 29th, we moved out of Dallas to Little Rock. It was a bittersweet moment for us. Here are some pics of what we have been doing lately.
First thing--get a big enough U Haul to fit all of our stuff. Ella and I thought Daddy might have gotten one too big but.....

We were wrong!! Just enough room left for two little kids! Ella couldn't believe that was all our stuff. She was very concerned I had forgot some of her toys.

But then she went back up to our bare apartment and saw it was completely empty. Goodbye little apartment. Lots of good memories!

Then we were off!! Lyle drove the big truck and the kids and I followed behind.

This was my view for 5 hours.

We finally made it and Lyle and Ryan (my brother in law) quickly unloaded everything. The kids thought the empty truck was a blast.
