8 snow days this year!!

Remember when I posted a couple days ago saying that we were beginning to think the kids wouldn't see any snow this year and felt lucky that they finally got two snow days......well we had no reason to worry. They ended up getting a total of 8 snow days this yea!! Our school does cyber days so fortunately we don't have to make up any days...whew! But how exciting it was!! Lots of fun snow activities.....sledding, snowmen, snowballs, puzzles, and of course HOT CHOCOLATE!

 This was at the beginning of the second snow. We ended up getting about 4 inches that day.  The kids couldn't wait to get out and build snowmen. They were out there for about two hours!

Poor peep and cousin Henry had to watch from the window. AB would get so excited when the kids would get close to the window to throw snow at her! Such sweet special days! I always so its God giving us a little break! Going to miss them next year in SF!

Dishwasher

Let's hope she loves the dishwasher this much when she gets older too and always offers to unload it!

Our snow vacation!

The kids finally got some snow days this year. It has been a very mild winter so far so we really worried that we wouldn't see any snow our last winter before moving to SF but Mother Nature pulled through for us and we got enough snow to give the kids three snow days! The last one was a total surprise. The school had sent out a text message that morning saying that we were going to have a delayed start so I got the kids' up a little later to start getting dressed. Then around 8am I got a second text saying school was closed. As soon as I let the kids' read the text, they stopped screaming and immediately changed out of their school clothes and back into their pjs!

Sledding. This is always a favorite! The kids get some real speed going down that hill. Actually Luke got a little too much speed on one run and hit a brick mailbox with his nose. Pretty gnarly gash but he was back out there a little while later. I even took a couple rides down....lots of fun!

AB wasn't too excited about the snow but loved watching the kids go down the hill and LOVED having them home with her all week!!

Mardi Gras Fun

Some friends and I took our kids to a Mardi Gras parade this year in the SOMA district in Little Rock. It was super cute and fun! We stopped at the awesome ice cream shoppe afterwards and enjoyed their fabulous ice cream!

Valentine's Day Love

What a great Valentine's Day we had this year! As always, we kicked Valentine's day off with the arrival of our little mailboxes on the mantle. It was especially exciting this year because we added Peep's little white mailbox to the mix. She had no idea what they were but loved banging it around. Ella and Luke loved it because those usually shared whatever treat was in her box since she still isn't eating candy and stuff yet.
One day I stuck these little notes in the kids' mailboxes:

 

 And then surprised them with heart-shaped pizzas and a movie night! The pizza was from Pappa John's and tasted not so great by the way. Hard to imagine me not liking any pizza but it really wasn't that good:( We ate it anyway of course and had a great time cuddled on the couch with a movie!

AB had fun crawling every where!!

On Valentine's Day, we all were surprised with sweet little notes from my sweet big girl! That girl is so awesome and has such a big heart!! (needs some help with spelling though:)
