Sweet time with my sweet boy

As I have mentioned before, there is about 45 minutes between the time I drop off Ella and the time I can drop off Luke at school so we get some good one on one time each morning. Sometimes this can be a little frustrating because I am anxious to get to work but other times (like this morning) I really enjoy just being with him and not having anything to do. I want to remember these times because I know they will be gone soon enough and I will be begging for some one on one time with him.

Luke has become quite the character. He is a Burdine boy that is for sure! If he has anything in his hand you can bet with 100% certainty that it is going to get thrown across the room. He climbs on just about everything even his dresser where he stands up on it and jumps across the room. He is really into riding his bike and loves to ride it in the house. He is very proud that he has learned recently how to pedal. He is so funny and makes all of us laugh like crazy. He adores his sissy but will pick a fight with her whenever he can. He is also getting quite the attitude. He tells me, "Don't you say that to me, Mommy! Don't you tell me no!" That is usually followed by some growling. He growls like a "tiger" to express his frustration with me....hard for me to hold back my laughter when I am trying to discipline him.  All though he is a rough, rowdy boy, he is also very very sweet. He begs to snuggle every night and his new thing recently is he loves to hold my hand up to his face while he sleeps. If he is laying in bed with us or sitting on the couch next to me he will rub my arm and say, "Does that make you happy, Mommy?" Yes, it does Luke! You make me happy everyday! I love you!

Here are some pictures I snapped this morning. I asked him to give me his sweet smile...so he kept closing his eyes and smiling.

Finally he opened his eyes!

Ella's picture for me

Ella made this picture a long time ago on the marker board in her room but I am just now getting around to posting it. It was just really sweet and I always wanted to remember it. She does lots of these drawings. I should take pictures of more of them.
I love you too, Ella! Thanks so much for the pretty picture! I hope you always want to hold my hand!

Labor Day Surprise!

This Labor Day, Landry, Elizabeth and the kids surprised us with a visit!! It was so great getting to see them! Ella was so excited about seeing Belle that she asked about every 10 minutes if they were close! We really didn't do anything but hang out at the house and let the kids play. Thanks soooooo much for coming up, Elizabeth and Landry! It really meant a lot to us and as always we had so much fun! Below are a few pictures.

The boys took a bath at the house before they headed to the hotel. Aren't they cute! I showed this picture to my mom and she said..."Oh, yeah! They are definitely related!" They do look a lot alike!
Belle spent the night with us so they watched a movie before bed. In case you are wondering....Ella and Belle didn't go to sleep until 2AM!! Ella came into my room at 2 asking for something and that is when I realized they were still a wake. I asked Ella the next morning what they were doing and she said they were just sitting in bed singing the songs from the movie they had watched earlier and getting "caught up":) Elizabeth said she asked Belle the same thing and Belle said that they don't get enough time together that is why they had to stay up late...to have more time together:) I think they are pretty good friends...and getting way tooooo grown up!!
