Great Grandma and Grandpa

My grandparents (my dad's mom and dad) came down for a visit last Sunday. They are in their 90's and just as sharp as ever. It is amazing. Ella and Luke love going to visit them because Great Grandma always has a cookie jar full of cookies. My grandpa tells the best stories like they happened just yesterday. I was so happy to have them come eat dinner with us.

A sleepover with cousin Belle

A couple weekends ago, we made a trip to Dallas to get this beast.....

and while we were there staying with Mims and Pa, cousin Belle got to come sleep over. It was a night full of fashion shows, playing house and popcorn.

Ella just loves her cousin. They are good friends!

Uncle Craig and Aunt Lauren are Moving to Little Rock!!

We are all super excited about having Craig and Lauren in Little Rock. We are looking forward to having them over for BBQs! The kids though are particularly excited because Lauren has put them in charge of taking care of her dog Indy. We recently dogsat Indy...this was very important for Ella. She told Lauren that she was going to use this time to show me how responsible she was so she could maybe get a dog. She did really well with Indy. Her and Luke made sure he had lots of water and lots of food. They also took him on a walk and gave him a bath later when uncle Craig got home. All though they took care of him well, we are no closer to getting a dog...sorry Ella. Here are some pics.

Late Happy 4th of July Post

We saw the most amazing fireworks display this year. We were so close and the kids were mesmerized....so was I. Ella said afterwards, "Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking us to that, mommy! It was beautiful!" And that is why I did it:)
This is the only pic I took of our 4th of July weekend. It was nice and relaxing.

I couple of days ago I let Luke and Ella do some "Paint by #s" painting. Luke thought this was much cooler:)

Summer Do's

Ella has been begging me for a while now to get her hair cut really short and since it is a "really" hot summer this year I thought it was a great time to do it. Grudgingly, I got Luke's hair cut as well. It was getting a little out of control but I kind of liked it that way.
